Do you moisture test before you start?
Yes. Every Shower Rescue job begins with a full inspection and moisture testing. We check for active leaks or hidden moisture behind the tiles using both visual inspections and UV leak detection. This helps us assess whether full restoration is possible before any work begins.
What happens if the grout is not fully removed?
It depends on the package and the condition of your grout. For our entry-level Clean & Sealed package, where grout is stable, we deep clean and treat existing grout. For Full Fix and Premium packages, we fully remove all failing grout and reseal the entire system for long-term protection.
Do you apply waterproofing behind the tiles?
We apply penetrating waterproofing agents directly into the grout joints and surface layers as part of the restoration process. This adds an extra layer of moisture protection where most leaks start. If major membrane failure is found behind the tiles, we will identify that during inspection and discuss full rebuild options if necessary. The Shower Rescue system is designed to stop water from ever reaching the membrane. In some cases, even if the membrane has started to fail, our system can safely buy you valuable time before a full rebuild becomes necessary.
Do you test the shower again after you finish?
Yes. We perform post-job UV leak testing and moisture re-checking after the restoration to verify that the shower is fully sealed and protected.
Why is your system different to a standard reseal?
Most reseal services simply cover over failed silicone without properly cleaning, preparing or moisture testing. We fully strip failing materials, moisture test, treat mould, apply waterproofing agents, reseal with pool-grade silicones, and guarantee the entire system for either 24 or 36 months depending on package.
